Planned in conjunction with the Life’s a Beach: Martin Parr exhibition

David Campany is a writer, curator, artist and Reader in Photography at the University of Westminster, London. In 2013 he curates major shows of the work of Victor Burgin (for Ambika P3, London) and Mark Neville (The Photographers’ Gallery, London). His publications includeWalker Evans: the magazine work (Steidl, 2013), Gasoline (MACK Books, 2013) Art and Photography (Phaidon, 2003), The Cinematic (Whitechapel Gallery & MIT Press, 2007), Photography and Cinema (Reaktion, 2008), and Jeff Wall: Picture for Women (Afterall, 2009). His writing on photography appears in journals such as FriezeAperture, Photoworks, and Source. He is a co-founder of the magazine PA. In 2012 David received the ICP Infinity Award for his writings on photography.
